the personal archıve

The Personal Archive is a growing collection of textiles I have inherited, discovered and gathered over time.

Some have been passed down through my family.

Others were found by chance, in small shops, old markets or places I happened to visit.

Sometimes I know exactly where a fabric came from. Sometimes very little is known about it.

I have always been drawn to the things that make a textile particular. The weight of a silk, an unusual weave, a piece of embroidery, or the way a fabric changes when held against the light.

Not everything in this archive is intended to become something else. Some pieces I keep simply because I find them beautiful, because they remind me of someone, or because I haven't yet decided what to do with them.

This is a place to share those textiles and the stories behind them. Where I found them, what I know about them, and why I chose to keep them.

From My Grandmother

My grandmother kept beautiful things. Fabrics, handkerchiefs, little pieces of embroidery. Some were carefully folded away for years. These are some of the things she left behind.
